the 2010 norwalk summer series kicked off this morning with the 3 miler. it was a great day to be outside and don had a great turnout for the race. i ran a 20:30, 6:50 pace, for the course (on top of a one mile warm-up on the track). one sad note, don announced that joe handleman was in the hospital after suffering a stroke. don set up a poster for us to sign to give joe our "get well" wishes. the racing scene is a smaller place without joe. get well joe, we miss you!

update: word from joe's family it that he did not suffer a stroke. joe was hospitalized for bacterial meningitis two weeks ago. the antibiotics seem to be working and they are cautiously optimistic that joe will be home soon.
